Economy and cost of living
Nixon says she wants to lower costs and raise wages, crack down on corporate price gouging in groceries, housing, and health care, and invest in affordable housing, including a national rent stabilization standard and expanded Section 8 vouchers.

Nixon says she supports a 5% annual wealth tax on billionaires, taxing capital gains the same as wages, closing corporate tax loopholes, and using the revenue for direct payments to families earning under $150,000 and other relief.
Nixon says she wants Medicare for All that covers everyone with no premiums, deductibles, or copays, including dental, vision, hearing, mental health, and reproductive care, along with capping drug costs and canceling medical debt.
Nixon says she wants to protect and expand Social Security and pensions rather than cut them, and expand home and community-based long-term care so seniors can age with dignity.
Nixon says she wants a humane immigration system with a path to citizenship for Dreamers and undocumented residents, a moratorium on deportations pending an audit of enforcement practices, and to abolish ICE and rebuild immigration enforcement under civilian oversight, and end for-profit detention centers.

Nixon says she wants a union-built transition to renewable energy creating union jobs in wind, solar, and grid modernization, ending taxpayer subsidies for fossil fuel companies, and making polluters pay for damage they've caused.
Nixon says she wants a foreign policy rooted in diplomacy, human rights, and restraint, including ending the war in Iran, upholding international law and the UN as the first tool for resolving conflicts, working toward lasting peace for Palestinians and Israelis, ending US support for illegal settlements in the West Bank, and restoring humanitarian aid funding.
Nixon says she wants to overturn Citizens United, abolish super PACs, restore and expand the Voting Rights Act, end partisan gerrymandering with independent redistricting commissions, make Election Day a national holiday, and require public financing of elections along with ethics reforms like banning stock trading by members of Congress.

Nixon was arrested by Capitol Police after refusing to leave Gov. Ron DeSantis' office during a sit-in protesting redistricting; she was charged with trespassing and resisting an officer without violence, both misdemeanors, and was set to stand trial in September 2026.
"Tool of white supremacy" comment about Charlie Kirk resolution
After Nixon objected on social media to a congressional resolution honoring Charlie Kirk, calling it "BEYOND disrespectful" and saying supporters of the resolution were "a tool of white supremacy," Florida GOP state Rep. Juan Carlos Porras said he would raise the post with House leadership and the ethics committee, accusing Nixon of "fabricating total lies."

The Florida House Rules and Ethics Committee formally reprimanded Nixon for using a bullhorn and speaking out of order during an April 2026 House floor vote on congressional redistricting maps, finding she violated House rules; Nixon was not permitted to address the panel before the vote but submitted a written statement defending her actions.

Fox News reported that Nixon's campaign hired Sara Mahmoud as a social media manager despite the antisemitism watchdog Canary Mission having previously catalogued antisemitic posts by Mahmoud dating back to 2015; the campaign did not say whether it knew of the posts when she was hired and confirmed she is no longer employed by the campaign.
Nixon was reprimanded by the Florida House Rules & Ethics Committee after walking through the House chamber shouting through a megaphone during a redistricting vote, an incident she said caused her to vote incorrectly amid the commotion.
