Well, uh, the question is who am I? I'm my wife's husband. Uh, so I'm Mark Wayne Mullen from the great state of Oklahoma and just recently sworn in to uh to be secretary of Department of Homeland Security.
You know, we all think about um our backyard all the time. We say, you know, this is my yard. Like the football players say, this is my house, right?
When I was wrestling, this is my mat. This is my home. This is my domain.
I used to fight walking in a cage. this is my cage and we all want to protect it. Um, now the fact that I get to protect every aspect of the homeland and that excites me because I know no one's going to fight harder for my family than I I would considering my family lives and walks all across uh truly the homeland.
That means I get to protect it and I'll protect your family just like I protect mine. So that's what excites me about about being in a fight every single day. I sat down, took my jacket off, and I got a phone number.
It says, it said 202. I typically don't answer that because when the president calls, it says DJT. But I picked it up, and it was a voice that a lot of us know.
He starts talking to me. We're about 15 seconds in the conversation, and Susie, I guess, walks into the office, and he has me on speaker phone, and she says, "Congratulations." He goes, "I haven't even told him yet." That's how I found out. But probably what prepares me more than anything honestly for homeland.
Anybody that's been a dad understands how much you'll do to protect your family and um that same tenacity that you would literally die for your family. That same tenacity of protecting your homeland. Uh that is a you know it's a 24hour 7 days a week 365 days a year job that you learn to love.
I love being a dad. Right. Um, I'm going to love the opportunity to be able to protect the homeland.
I'm Mark Way Mullen and I'm your new Secretary of Department of Homeland Security.
