About Semblen
Semblen shows how news, political ads and government statements try to persuade you. It marks the manipulation techniques in the wording, sentence by sentence, and checks factual claims against sources. It doesn't rate outlets or score parties. It shows you the words doing the work and lets you decide.
What it does
- The analyzer: paste an article, a link or a video, and see each technique marked where it occurs, with an explanation and background the coverage leaves out.
- Today's news: stories from across the political spectrum, analyzed every night.
- Political ads: the 2026 Senate and House campaign ads from the public ad archives, who paid for them and what's in them.
- Government statements: official statements and paid government ads, analyzed the same way.
- Semblen Pro: a daily digest of the news you follow, with the manipulation marked.
How it works
A language model trained on real, hand-reviewed news text flags the techniques. Each flag is explained, and factual claims are checked against sources that are linked so you can read them yourself. What we detect describes every technique with real examples. A flag is about wording, not about whether a story is true or a side is right.
