HSI's top five. HSI's mission does not stop at the border. Here are five international cases showcasing HSI's global impact.

Number one. In Peru, HSI Lima in the Transnational Criminal Investigative Unit worked with Peruvian partners to take down 12 members of an organized crime network tied to illegal mining, fuel trafficking, and money laundering in protected areas of the Amazon. The joint HSI-led operation seized more than $577,000, vehicles generators, and equipment showing HSI's global impact against criminal organizations that exploit natural resources and fuel corruption.

Number two. In the Philippines, HSI Manila, the DHS Cyber Crime Center, and Philippine immigration authorities stopped a convicted sex offender before he could enter the country as part of Operation Angel Watch. Number three.

In Honduras, HSI special agents led a coordinated international effort with the TCIU, US Marshals Service, Diplomatic Security Service, Interpol, Honduran authorities, and New York partners to extradite a fugitive wanted for vehicular homicide. Number four. In Colombia, HSI Tampa special agents with the Homeland Security Task Force led the extradition and arrest of six Colombian nationals involved in a major drug trafficking organization that smuggled over 1,300 kg of cocaine with the help of corrupt police.

Number five. And finally, in Lima, HSI special agents with the Homeland Security Task Force, working with HSI Bogota, HSI Washington, D.C., the TCIU, Interpol, and Peruvian National Police arrested two Colombian nationals wanted in connection with the drugging and murder of a US citizen in Colombia. Around the world, HSI is working with partners to stop criminals, protect victims, and defend our communities.
