Economy and cost of living
Von Wilpert says she wants to lower the cost of food, fuel and housing by opposing Trump's tariffs and going after corporations that raise prices. She also says she would cut red tape to build more affordable housing and pass the PRO Act to strengthen workers' rights to organize and bargain.

Von Wilpert says she wants to repeal Trump's tariffs. She describes herself as a taxpayer watchdog on the City Council who opposed water and trash rate hikes, and says she would oppose cuts to education and healthcare funding to pay for wars.
Von Wilpert says she would protect and expand the Affordable Care Act, restore its tax credits and add a public option. She says she would also let Medicare negotiate more drug prices, cap out-of-pocket costs, and expand coverage to dental, hearing, vision and mental health care.
Von Wilpert says she would oppose any cuts to or privatization of Social Security and would strengthen it for current and future retirees. She also says she would expand Medicare's power to negotiate drug prices and add dental, hearing and vision coverage.
Von Wilpert says she would work to get masked ICE agents off the streets and to protect neighbors from government overreach. She says she supports reform that keeps borders secure and provides legal pathways to citizenship for long-term residents and Dreamers.
Von Wilpert says she would work to write Roe v. Wade into federal law and to reverse Trump's cuts to Planned Parenthood. She says healthcare decisions should stay between patients and their doctors.
Von Wilpert says she would hold polluters accountable, protect California's coast from new offshore oil drilling, and reverse Trump-era rollbacks of environmental protections. She says making the country climate-friendly would lower costs and create jobs.
Von Wilpert says she would push to ban assault weapons and high-capacity magazines, require universal background checks, strengthen red flag laws, and crack down on gun trafficking. She also wants to hold gun makers accountable when their products are used to harm communities.
Von Wilpert says she opposes Trump's unauthorized wars and wants to rebuild alliances, support NATO, stand with Ukraine, and push for a two-state solution in the Middle East. She also says she would restore USAID funding and expand programs like PEPFAR.
Von Wilpert says she would ban members of Congress from trading stocks, pass the John Lewis Voting Rights Act and the For the People Act, and overturn Citizens United to reduce dark money in elections.
