Joining us now with an optimistic take despite the polls, House Speaker Mike Johnson. Welcome back, Mr. Speaker. Hey, Shannon. Great to be with you. Okay, so let's talk through a couple of our new Fox News power rankings. We've got this. When it comes to the House, 219 seats, solidly Democrat, 198 Republican. That puts 18 as toss -ups. Also in our power rankings, this is a forecast. For election night, if things go really well for Democrats, they end up with 237 seats. A good GOP night, our forecasters have, as 219 for A good GOP night. Democrats, meaning you'd still be in the minority in either scenario. You say those predictions aren't wrong. Why? Those polls are wrong. They're based on faulty analysis. Look, in the last week, Shannon, you had two polling organizations nationwide be exposed for completely fraudulent numbers. And the more traditional researchers and poll organizations are acknowledging that they've been undersampling Republicans. In fact, CNN ran a story less than a week ago, and they said that 14 out of the last 16 October polls in those elections, they undersampled Republicans by an average of four points. Republicans are no longer responding to polls. Look, I'm going all around the country, Shannon. I've been in 21 states, 39 districts just in the last three weeks. I'm going to the swing districts, the places where we're going to flip blue seats to red, and we're having hundreds of people turn out for these events. It's excitement and we're having hundreds of people turn out for these events. level like 2024 and this is what I do when I'm in these big arenas, Shannon, I ask for hands. Show me your hand if you've answered a poll in the last six months. There'll be like three hands among 300 people. I'm telling you these polls are off, all of them, because they're using faulty analysis. All right, well today is officially the third anniversary of your speakership and I remember as it played out there was a lot of chaos in the days and weeks leading up to that being up to that and there are a lot of folks who didn't think that you would hold on you wouldn't be a good fundraiser you wouldn't be able to leave this house it's been challenging with a very very small minority how much pressure do you feel now looking forward to and trying to hold on to the house and how tough has it been to manage that majority look it's not an easy job but but i never feel the pressure of that i know we're doing the right thing for the right reason and this is an election that's that we refer to as common sense versus crazy and i think the american people understand that when when i was handed the gavel i had to put steady hands at the wheel and i've done that, and, you know, just for what we've done on the campaign trail. I mean, they were giving me the numbers this morning. In the last three years since I became Speaker, I've raised $860 million for House Republicans between direct dollars and the endorsed super PAC that I have. I've traveled, circled the globes, an equivalent of 13 .9 times, traveling to all the states, all the swing districts, many times, multiple times. We'll do that all the way through Election Day. It's not been easy, but we have an extraordinary record of delivering for the American people, fulfilling our promises. You know, we effectively made a contract with America in 2024, and we have done everything that we said we were going to do. Secured the border tight. We gave the largest tax cut in U .S. history. We made the largest spending cut in U .S. history as well, $1 .6 trillion to try to get the government to work more efficiently and effectively. We cut massive Biden -era regulations. We got the economy going We've got the economy going again. We have Trump accounts for newborns. the first ever nationwide school choice program. We have the lowest violent crime in 126 years, biggest decline in prescription drug costs in 60 years. We got back to American energy dominance and peace through strength. We have a million jobs added in the private sector alone in the last 19 months. It goes on and on and on. We're reshoring American manufacturing, and we're fixing the economy we inherited under the last administration with 40 -year high inflation. I think with that long list though, is it a messaging problem? With that long list, though, is it a message? Why do you think Americans tell us over and over again in the polls, they are worried about all kinds of things that are tied to the economy. They don't like the direction the country is moving in. They feel very pessimistic. Is something lost in translation? Is there more work to be done? Well, look, it's a hostile media environment. Most of the mainstream media, of course, is advancing the false narrative of the other side, the Democrats and the Marxists, the insurgent left that is taking over the Democrat Party. The Democrats and the Marxist, the insurgent left that is taking over the Democrat party, they're on the other team. They're on. And they can completely and constantly repeat that message. Gas prices are too high, we know that. And of course we have much more work to be done. But in a contrast election, the American people have a very simple choice. Do you want to turn the government over again to the people who open the border, want to ban fossil fuels? What's that going to do for gas prices? The people that don't believe in the rule of law, the people that brought you the unsafe streets and the terrible economic conditions... It brought you the unsafe streets and the terrible economic conditions. We have set the ship of state on the right course, and it's got to be continued. And if you look in these individual races, house races across the country, it's a very simple decision. Every voter has to ask themselves a simple question. Which candidate is best for me and my family, my children, my aging parents? In every one of these cases, the Republican is offering common -sense solutions and a steady hand at the wheel. and the democrats increasingly are going crazy they really are there's an insurgent And the Democrats increasingly are going crazy. marxist left that is taking over that party and when we watch the videos of what's happening in in paris and france and other countries uh in europe right now that's a harbinger of things to come unless you keep the grown -ups in charge and that's what this election really is all about at the end of the day all right we're looking across the pond let's talk about this because there are those who think and and say openly your critics that the house has been way too deferential to President Trump. Now something that has come up recently is this idea to waive president trump now something that has come up recently is sanctions on Russia after this big bipartisan bill had a ton of support on the Hill. You said last week that you wanted to have a talk with the White House about this because you were worried about the consequences potentially of that. Now following that, Special Envoy Steve Wyckoff was standing side by side with Putin, called him a humanitarian. GOP Senator Joni Ernst tweeted this. She said, Vladimir Putin is not our friend and he is certainly no humanitarian. His relentless And he is certainly no humanitarian. His relentless attacks on innocent civilians in Ukraine show his total disregard for human life. attacks on innocent civilians. Appeasement won't end this war. Pressure will. Have you talked with the White House or the President about that waiver decision? Joni Arns is right in her description of Vladimir Putin. We obviously agree. Congress voted overwhelmingly to sanction him to try to bring it into the conflict. Now, I talked to Marco Rubio, Secretary of State, at length over the weekend. I talked to the President as well on Saturday. We were together. and and what there's a lot of nuance to this remember we just had a hostage release from russia in the last couple of days steven hubbard they were in the midst of that release as it was ongoing they're working to bring it into the conflict uh marco the the secretary says that they're going to have unilateral uh negotiation or trilateral negotiations they're right on the verge of that there's a lot of moving parts to this and the administration is doing everything possible to bring an end to that conflict and everybody in Congress agrees, and the White House agrees and everybody in congress agrees and the white that that is the objective. It's a delicate thing, of course, and Vladimir Putin cannot be trusted, and we have to treat him as such. All right, Mr. Speaker, we'll check back in after the results come, and we know sometimes these things take weeks, but we'll check in and see about your predictions. Thank you, sir. You got it. Thanks, Shannon.
