Sanctuary DAs are treating illegal aliens better than American citizens!

Sanctuary DAs are treating illegal aliens better than American citizens! In New York City, prosecutors are being told to let criminal illegal aliens, including pedophiles, off lightly so that @ICEgov has a harder time deporting them. Far too many times, innocent New Yorkers have been victimized by criminal illegal aliens and found their leaders taking the side of the criminals rather than the victims. Under the Trump administration, the American people will ALWAYS come first and we will relentlessly remove illegal aliens from New York, even while local officials REFUSE to honor thousands of detainers.

What the record shows

The public record on what this post rests on, from the sources linked. It isn’t a verdict on the post.

How many ICE detainers has New York City declined to honor, and what policies, if any, have NYC prosecutors' offices issued regarding charging or sentencing recommendations for undocumented defendants?

  • DHS data show New York State declined 16,070 ICE detainers from the start of the Trump Administration through early October 2026, with 52,503 total criminal charges and convictions associated with those detainers. October 12, 2026 “from January 20, 2025, to October 8, 2026, 16,070 detainers were not honored by the state of New York.” — dhs.gov ↗
  • NYPD's own quarterly statistics, filed as a court exhibit, show the department honored zero ICE detainers across multiple reporting periods, transferring no individuals to ICE. Filed July 24, 2025 (covering multiple quarterly periods) “Number of individuals held pursuant to civil immigration detainers beyond the time when such individual would otherwise be released from custody of the NYPD: 0” — storage.courtlistener.com ↗
  • PolitiFact reported that in fiscal year 2023, NYPD received 109 ICE detainer requests and fulfilled none of them; the Department of Corrections received 201 requests and transferred 10 people to ICE. March 29, 2024 (covering fiscal year 2023) “In fiscal year 2023, the NYPD received 109 detainer requests but fulfilled none of them. The Department of Corrections received 201 requests, and transferred 10 people to ICE.” — api.politifact.com ↗
  • The Queens District Attorney's Office employs an Immigration Specialist who helps prosecutors frame plea dispositions to avoid immigration consequences for defendants, and provides guidance on post-conviction relief and prosecutorial discretion. May 27, 2026 (citing Queens DA annual reports from 2020–2025) “the Immigration Specialist 'helps Assistant District Attorneys navigate through plea options and assist in framing dispositions that will prevent unwanted immigration consequences.'” — judiciary.house.gov ↗
