Economy and cost of living
Sykes says she wants to create good-paying jobs and reduce everyday costs, and to back investments in education, workforce training, research, clean energy and infrastructure. She also says Congress should pass the HOMES Act to make housing more affordable.
Sykes says the tax system should reward work, not just wealth. She says she wants to expand the Earned Income Tax Credit and reinstate the Child Tax Credit, and she also wants bipartisan long-term budget solutions.

Sykes says she is working to lower prescription drug costs, expand access to Medicaid and Medicare, and increase funding for medical research and public health agencies. She also says health care is a human right.
Sykes says she is protecting a woman's right to reproductive choice. She also says every American should have autonomy over their individual health care decisions.
Sykes says she wants to meet today's energy demands while developing clean energy technology. She supports policies to lower energy bills, create jobs and address the climate crisis, and backs domestic solar, wind, hydro, geothermal and biomass production.
Sykes says a military strike in a sovereign country with no defined endgame risks a long and costly conflict and endangers American service members. She says Americans should not have to take on governing another country.
