Money in this race
From FEC filings for 2025–26. Outside spending is money groups spent on their own for or against a candidate, reported within 24 or 48 hours as the election nears. Raised is the campaign's own fundraising, as of its latest quarterly report. Largest donors come from each outside spender's own FEC receipts, with each donor's share of its itemized receipts; donors under $100,000 are not named.

The federal government set aside 120 million dollars in rent help for Nebraskans during the pandemic. As governor, Pete Ricketts refused to take it. The money was there for struggling renters.

In 2021, Dan Osborn led Omaha Kellogg's workers in a national strike. Eleven weeks on the picket line. In the end, the workers beat back a two-tier wage system and won a better contract. Osborn was a steamfitter and union president, not a politician.

Dan Osborn is a Navy veteran and former industrial mechanic who led the 77-day strike at Omaha's Kellogg's plant as union president in 2021, and he's running for US Senate in Nebraska as an independent. He's been here before. In 2024 he took 46.5% against Sen. Deb Fischer, the strongest independent performance in a Nebraska Senate race in the direct election era, in a state Trump carried by 20 points. This cycle the field cleared for him: the Democratic nominee withdrew in July after winning her primary on an explicit promise to step aside, setting up a head-to-head with incumbent Republican Sen. Pete Ricketts. Public polling has shown Osborn anywhere from one point behind to five points ahead.
The two campaigns are running on very different money. Ricketts reports $11.2 million raised, including $5.3 million from himself, while Osborn reports $5.8 million with an average second-quarter contribution of about $40 and no corporate PAC money. "For me, it really is money in politics," he told IVN. "If you're taking their money, you've got to do their bidding." He did 200 town halls in 2024, has done more than 90 this cycle with a commitment to reach all 93 counties, and his platform pairs term limits with what he says matters more: a lifetime ban on former members of Congress becoming lobbyists, plus a congressional stock trading ban.

Card Stacking: The sentence implies his stated identity is false by referencing unspecified 'recorded comments' without presenting the full context, selectively framing the evidence — for example: 'his recorded comments tell a completely different story'
Loaded Language: Uses emotionally charged terms like 'radical policies' and 'illegal immigrants' to trigger a negative reaction rather than convey neutral facts — for example: radical policies, illegal immigrants and radical liberals.
Name Calling: Labels his positions as 'Democratic Socialist agenda' as a derogatory political tag to discredit him rather than engage with the substance of his views — for example: Democratic Socialist agenda, fake independent and radical liberals.
Scapegoating: Implies that supporting Social Security cards for immigrants is inherently harmful, blaming immigrants as a group for a policy concern — for example: 'backed giving Social Security cards to illegal immigrants'
Repetition: The word 'radical' is repeated across sentences 2 and 3 to reinforce a negative association through familiarity — for example: 'radical policies', 'radical liberals'
Black-and-White Fallacy: Presents only two options: either Osborn is a genuine independent or he is a 'fake' who stands with radical liberals, ignoring any nuanced political positioning — for example: 'fake independent who stands with radical liberals'
False Urgency: The imperative 'Watch the video' creates a sense of urgency and implies the viewer must act immediately to discover a hidden truth — for example: 'Watch the video to see his true stance'
Conspiracy Appeal: The phrase 'his true stance' implies that Osborn is hiding something sinister that only the video will reveal, suggesting a hidden agenda — for example: 'his true stance'

That's the amount I'm humbly asking you to pitch in to my campaign.
I'm Dan Osborn, the Independent candidate running to unseat billionaire Republican Senator Pete Ricketts this November.
Yes, just $1
$1 because in 2024, we came within six points of winning this seat -- one of the closest Senate races in the country.
$1 because now I’m running again against billionaire Republican Pete Ricketts, and the latest poll shows me LEADING for 2026 – 47% to 46%.
$1 because I will be the 51st vote in the Senate to protect our democracy, expand worker rights, and get corporate money out of politics.
And $1 because I am running against a literal billionaire – and the only way I’ll be able to fight back against the Super PACs and their lies is with your help now.
I know $1 might not seem like much, but together with thousands of other grassroots donors like you, we can take on Republican Senator Pete Ricketts – and we can win.
We’ve set a goal to raise another $10,000 before our next fundraising deadline, but right now, we are still short.
Please, can I count on you to donate to my campaign right now – whatever you can afford – to help me defeat billionaire Republican Pete Ricketts and flip Nebraska’s Senate seat?
Thank you.

Ricketts Review 250
Official office video · Senator Pete Rickettsvideo · 1:16from 2026-09-03
Every year, we give you an annual report on the things that I've been working on in Washington D.C. It's called the Ricketts Review. We passed the Rural Workforce Housing Bill to be able to provide more housing. If you can have more housing, the cost of housing will come down. In the Working Families Tax Cut last [music] year, we were able to avoid a $2,400 tax increase on your average Nebraska family. We were also able to add in no tax on tips, [music] no tax on overtime. We were able to provide a $6,000 extra bonus that seniors could use to write off on their taxes. The child tax credit was set to go down to $1,000. [music] We took it up to $2,200 and made it permanent. We increased deduction businesses can take from $150,000 to $500,000 so that [music] they can offer child care. And of course, there's the Trump accounts, which means any baby born between 2025 and 2028 will get $1,000 from the U.S. Treasury. Parents, grandparents, companies all can put in that to give those young people a head start on their future. So, a lot of really important things that will end up being about $124 billion in benefits to middle and low-income families because of what we did in the Working Families Tax Cut. >> [applause]

We're here at the Nebraska State Fair. It's great to have Secretary Rollins here. It's wonderful because Nebraska is an ag state and it's our number one industry. So, we're going to talk all things ag today. >> I'm so happy Senator Ricketts has gotten [music] this organized. We're welcoming Secretary Rollins back to the state Nebraska. I think she's adopted us by now. [music] So, we're thrilled that she's here. We're going to have a great discussion about how important the ag [music] is to the state in Nebraska. >> Listen, there are no two better senators in Washington D.C. No two more [music] patriotic warriors for Nebraska, for freedom, for liberty, and for agriculture. That's what we're going to talk about today. Nebraska is the number [music] one beef state in the country. If we don't have beef, we don't have freedom. [music] And that's what we're about to go talk about and and continue the conversation. 2026 Federal Issues Forum Recap
Official office video · Senator Pete Rickettsvideo · 1:51from 2026-09-03
Welcome to the Nebraska State Fair and our federal issues forum. Nebraska's an ag state. [music] About 20% of our economy is tied to agriculture and about one in four jobs. >> We owe it [music] to producers to enact policies promoting certainty and promoting stability. >> Food security is national security and that's what we work on each and every day. And that's why I'm so pleased to have Secretary Ross here who has helped us so much with the recovery from the wildfire damage and has worked with us on all these different issues that we have in Washington D.C. >> The most important people in the room [music] are our producers. We have so much work to do if we're going to reverse the trend [music] of what's happened in this country to our cattle ranchers, to our farmers over the last 30, 40, 50 years. Ricketts Tours Wildfire Damage in Western Nebraska
Official office video · Senator Pete Rickettsvideo · 0:52from 2026-08-12
Hi, this is Pete Ricketts. I'm here at Fort Robinson State Park. The reason we're out here is to view the wildfire damage that we've had here recently with the drought. We've seen a lot of wildfires over a million acres of burn in Nebraska generally. And so, we're going to be taking the next stop to go into Crawford to talk to some of the volunteer firefighters who just who do heroic work protecting the community. Uh these are all volunteers. They're on a moment's notice, they come out, they be able they're there to help their community members. They just do fantastic work. And so, we're going to hear from them about some of the things that they've been doing and what they need to be able to continue to do their job. But also just to say thank you to all of our volunteer firefighters who just do just a fantastic job across the state of Nebraska, but in particular here in the western part of the state where we've had these terrible wildfires.

What this page is
An ad is on this page because its own "Paid for by" line is a campaign in this race; or it comes from a national Senate group and ran mostly in NE; or it ran mostly in NE and names a candidate — unless its sponsor is a campaign for some other office. Ads from outside groups appear alongside the campaigns' own.
Campaigns run one text as many separate ads. Identical text from the same sponsor is one card here, marked with its number of variants.
A technique is a specific manipulative move in the wording, found by our model and explained in one line. It is not a claim that the ad is false.
Claims are checked when a reader asks: press "Check this ad's claims" on a card. The check runs once and its result is shown to everyone afterwards. The ten ads with the most money behind them in each race are checked ahead of time.
Claim verdicts say what the cited sources say. A verdict that an ad is wrong or misleading is shown only when it cites an established fact-checker or an institutional record — Congress, a federal agency, a court — and its confidence is not low; a weaker one is not shown at all. Each verdict shows what it rests on and how confident it is. If we got one wrong, press Disagree: a verdict that readers dispute and no one defends comes down.
Video ads come from the campaigns' own YouTube channels; the transcript is analyzed. Meta ads are analyzed on their text; their video and images are not, yet.
